MEET THE FOUNDER

Welcome to Rock.Con, a Rock & Metal music convention specifically aimed at providing and facilitating a collaborative, creative and educational platform for the Scottish Rock & Metal community.

Founded by Katie Wills, a professional freelance vocalist + pianist, songwriter + lyricist. performer, recording artist, session, community + wedding musician, budding producer, tutor and currently a 3rd year BA Commercial Music student at the University of the West of Scotland.

Katie is also the front woman of Glasgow based Synthwave, Prog Rock/Metal, Dark Pop 4-piece, Artax, a solo Weddings, Functions, Events, Venue solo performer and also most recently, has joined Wedding, Functions and Events band, Cassien, as their new vocalist/pianist.

​

As part of a module for her course, Katie had to create a project from scratch. Born from her love of Rock & Metal music and a passion for community, she noticed that there were limitations and a lack of industry opportunities and events aside from gigs, for this particular community in Scotland.

​

From there, she set about creating an event that encompasses all elements, bringing together people with as many creative avenues as possible.
